Väylävirasto's Procurement of Archival Systems for Digitally Preserved Data Collections
Väylävirasto’s archive is a public authority archive governed by the Finnish Archives and Information Management Act. At the beginning of 2022, Väylävirasto conducted a procurement for a comprehensive archival system service for data collections intended for long-term or permanent digital preservation.
The key requirements for the delivered system were to improve the discoverability and accessibility of existing archived materials, as well as to enhance the controlled and secure transfer of archived data between Väylävirasto and various stakeholders.
Result: Profium Archive for Väylävirasto
The digital archival service procurement was won by Telia Archive, which is based on Profium Sense™ technology — Profium’s digital archive solution. The collaboration between Telia and Profium ensures the secure preservation and handling of Väylävirasto’s documents. Väylävirasto selected Telia’s archival service for this purpose.
Väylävirasto is responsible for the development and maintenance of Finland’s national road network, railways, and waterways. It employs approximately 480 experts and has offices in Helsinki, Lappeenranta, Turku, Oulu, Tampere, and Vaasa.
