Context Aware Services
Profium Sense™ Context Aware Services (CAS) application takes into account the end-user's role, location and needs. Users can express their interest with familiar concepts. For example, hobbies, jobs, personal issues, such as allergies, family members and the locations associated. In other words, users themselves configure the content of their own service.
Sense intelligently deduces what, when and where the channel to the end user is served. CAS is the simplest and most effective service in mobile environments where there is a clear and a predictable need for the end user. For example, Sense may alert the user that their children’s way to school has a high risk of pollen exposure.
Technology of Context Aware Services
Profium Sense™ empowers context-aware services that take the wants and needs of different users into account. These interests can be expressed with concepts relevant to these users while taking their physical points of interest into the equation.
Context Aware Services extends the core capabilities of Profium Sense™ with ontologies that allow encoding of user profiles which can be matched with incoming content streams in real-time.
This approach enables proactive information services where the users can be notified of relevant information before they have time to be active information seekers. Naturally users can use mobile and PC based Web interfaces to find information, which matches with their interests, role and location at any time.
Context Aware Services make use of the SPARQL geosemantic extensions available in Profium Sense™ for finding information, which is close to the user or is close to the user's points of interest. These extensions are valuable for e.g. environmental applications.
Context Aware Services ships with a preconfigured geonames dataset.
Context Aware Services can also be configured to monitor RSS/ATOM blogs to input new blog entries as soon as they are published. Services can also be configured to monitor blogs on the Internet.
